Easy removal of Glass Jar Labels

Hi Friends.Glass jars are particularly handy to reuse. I've seen many youtube DIY and crafting videos where people spend way too much time and energy removing the labels.In this article I am going to present a simple method which takes 30 minutes and no scrubbing is involved!

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

Required for this project:
  • The jar whose label is to be removed, filled with water
  • Hot water
  • Tablespoon
  • Baking soda
  • A vessel with a diameter of the jar diameter plus 5 cm (approximately 2")

Step 2: Prepare Your Solution

Add 1 tbsp baking soda to the vessel. Stir in about 1 1/2 cups of hot water.

Step 3: Soak the Jar

Lower the jar into the vessel. If the water does not cover the label add more hot water until it does.

Step 4: Wait 15-30 Minutes

Wait 15-30 minutes. The labels will slide right off the jar.

Step 5: Wipe Off the Glue Remnants

There will be a little glue residue left on the jar, it will wipe off with a wet cloth.
Wash the jar and use it for anything you like.

How to make a high quality stamp out of your favorite logo or symbol. Step 1: Select a favorite symbol or logo to use as a stamp Start by selecting a few black and white logos, symbols or other emblems that you would be interested in having a stamp of. Step 2 in Paper lamps

Step 2: Experiment, experiment, experiment I cut out many circles of paper by hand and experimented to see what I could make them do. The larger paper had a floppy quality and I found that by mixing a bit of elmers glue with water, I could make the paper temporarily flimsy, influence the shape, and let it dry to form a rippled texture. Due to the weight of the paper, the dried vellum had flowing, smooth curves instead of lighter weight paper that will just wrinkle. For the water/glue mix, try your own ratios. I found mostly water and a bit of glue mixed together to a milky solution was perfect (probably a 6 or 8:1 ratio water:glue) and then I just reached my hand in and spread it over the paper, gently coating the surface in a thin layer of liquid. As I was experimenting, I ran out of room on my desk and started stacking up the small circles of paper and realized I really liked the stack. This became the main concept for the lamp.
